What Is A Personal Relationship With God?

In fact, He wants to communicate with you on a daily basis. Therefore, you must make your relationship with God the number one priority in your life. God desires to have an intimate relationship with you and fellowship with you on a daily basis. A personal relationship with God is simply like a relationship with anyone else in your life. It is fellowship, love, and trust between you and Him. Although, it means to know Him and to be known by Him.

As a matter of fact, the reason you are a believer is to develop a relationship with God whom you believe in. One of the greatest benefits you will gain from an intimate relationship with God is the ability to trust Him more easily.

1. Read Your Bible Daily to Have a Relationship with God

If you are a born again Christian you seek to develop a personal relationship with God. One of the easiest ways to do that is by reading your bible to seek guidance. There will be days you might not know where to start by simply opening your bible, begin reading. You can start from the beginning in Genesis, or find different bible verses about something you are going through and need guidance in.

2. Spend Time With God

By spending time with God you are developing a personal relationship with Him by talking to God, praying, fasting and giving praise to the Lord. In fact, you really can start off by saying a simple five minute prayer everyday. One thing I do is to write a letter to God everyday in my prayer journal. You can also give thanks to God at the end of the day. Another thing I do is to write down 3 things I was graceful on that day in my gratitude workbook.

3. Seek the Holy Spirit

However, without the work of the Holy Spirit, we are helpless. Seek him, and he will rest upon you — especially in your hour of greatest need. As a result, to receive the Holy Spirit as per the Bible, you must repent of your sins and get baptized. To repent of your sins, you must confess them to God and turn away from those sins, dedicating yourself to following God’s will.

Luke 11:9-13: Seek and you will find “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Therefore, if you want to have a more intimate relationship with God on a deeper level, you should enroll in my course 7 Weeks of Building A Personal Relationship With God. In the course you would learn to pray without ceasing, different ways to pray and fast that works best for you. Once you have enrolled:

Keep Jesus Christ First in Your Life

Furthermore, when you keep God first in your life you will atomically have personal relationship with God. In the same way, God is waiting for you to come develop a relationship with you. Jesus loves you so much, go to Him because He is waiting patiently on you.

I believe God is a part of each and every one of us. It doesn’t matter if we sense it or not, He is there. He is a part of us. And if he is, why are we afraid? What are we afraid of? If this amazing power is within us all, why wouldn’t we act like it and do the amazing things each of us can do?

    1. Hello Kayleigh! God is all around us and His presence is always there. We just have to make ourselves available to Him to feel His presence within us.

  2. Grace says:

I have been meditating for a couple of months now. At first I did it for my peace of mind, to reduce stress. But I soon realized that this is a way to communicate with God. It’s pretty amazing but as soon as I am at peace it’s like God is there, in the room with me. I highly recommend it to anyone!

    1. Roberta says:

How do you do this? How do you get your mind to stay still and meditate? I’ve tried but it doesn’t seem to be working.

      1. Hello Roberta! The first thing you need to do is to find a nice quiet place. You can start off by reading your bible, spending time with God and listening to the Holy Spirit.

      2. Grace says:

Try guided meditation at first. It might work wonders as it did for me. And don’t stress about your thoughts bombarding your mind. Just acknowledge they are there and let them pass and get back to focusing on your breathing. By doing this daily for even 5 minutes if you can’t more, you will become better at it.

        1. Hello Grace! I do agree that when you meditate on God’s words, everything will get better.

    2. Hello Grace! Yes it’s very important to pray and seek God for guidance! It’s so good that you realize that it is a way to communicate with God.

  3. Alondra says:

Since the beginning of this year I started a gratitude journal where I write daily adding all the things and people that make my life better. It’s been a very helpful and insightful experience.

    1. Hello Alondra! It’s great that you have started your gratitude journal.

    2. Carly says:

I have started keeping a daily journal ever since the pandemic started. I was scared and this was a way to get those bad thoughts from my mind onto paper. I add things I’m grateful for, things that happened that day, what I could have done better and so on. It has strengthened my mind and showed me that I have plenty to be grateful for.

      1. Hello Carlyn! I’m so happy you have stated to use a daily journal. It is good to hear that it has strengthened your mind.
