No matter what you go through in life or how many hardships you must endure God is still with you. It doesn’t matter what you’ve lost God is still in there with you. It doesn’t matter how many times you have failed, God is still with you. You are not a failure. Sometimes in life we go through situations to make us stronger or God has something better for us.
You Are Not a Failure—God Is Calling You to Try Again
Have you ever felt like giving up?
Maybe you’ve applied for job after job and haven’t received an offer.
Maybe you were passed over for the promotion you worked so hard to earn.
Maybe you failed an important exam or didn’t receive the certification you needed.
Maybe you’ve started a business that isn’t growing as quickly as you hoped.
Or perhaps you’ve prayed for a breakthrough that still hasn’t come.
If any of that describes you, I want you to hear this today:
You are not a failure.
Your setbacks do not define your identity.
Your disappointments do not determine your destiny.
Your current circumstances do not change what God says about you.
God is reminding you today:
“Don’t give up. Try again.”
Failure Is an Event, Not Your Identity
Too often, we confuse what happened to us with who we are.
You failed an exam.
That doesn’t make you a failure.
You didn’t get the job.
That doesn’t mean you’re unqualified.
Your business didn’t succeed the first time.
That doesn’t mean you aren’t called to be an entrepreneur.
One closed door does not cancel God’s purpose for your life.
Every person God used in Scripture experienced setbacks.
Moses made mistakes before leading Israel.
David faced rejection before becoming king.
Peter denied Jesus before becoming a powerful leader in the early church.
Thomas doubted before believing.
Yet God still used each of them for His glory.
Your past mistakes cannot erase God’s calling.
Victory Is Your Inheritance in Christ
As a child of God, your identity is not found in your accomplishments.
It is found in Jesus Christ.
Because of Christ, you are loved.
You are forgiven.
You are chosen.
You are redeemed.
You are accepted.
You are never beyond God’s ability to restore.
The enemy wants you to believe your story is over because of one disappointment.
God says your story is still being written.
He specializes in bringing hope where there seems to be none and making beauty from broken places.
Sometimes the Delay Is Part of God’s Preparation
We often pray for the destination.
God prepares us through the journey.
Maybe you haven’t received the promotion yet.
Maybe you didn’t pass the certification exam.
Maybe you haven’t graduated yet.
Maybe the opportunity you wanted went to someone else.
It’s okay to feel disappointed.
Disappointment is real.
But disappointment doesn’t mean God has abandoned you.
Sometimes God delays what we want because He’s preparing us for something we cannot yet see.
His timing is never wasted.
Every lesson, every challenge, and every season is shaping your character for the purpose He has prepared.
Your Purpose Is Bigger Than Your Career
Your job is important.
Your education matters.
Your certifications can open doors.
But none of those things are your ultimate purpose.
God didn’t create you simply to earn a paycheck.
He created you to know Him, reflect His love, and use your gifts to make an eternal impact.
Careers may change.
Titles may change.
Income may increase or decrease.
But God’s calling on your life remains.
When you discover your purpose in Christ, everything else begins to find its proper place.
Instead of asking,
“What job should I have?”
Ask,
“Lord, how can I glorify You wherever You’ve placed me today?”
Stop Living in Survival Mode
Don’t feel discouraged or give up. Your problem is that you’re so focus on trying to survive and not live.
God is trying to give you a life with no worries or stress. Stop trying to hold on to things that God is trying to take away from you.
Many people spend their lives trying to survive.
Survive another workweek.
Survive another financial setback.
Survive another difficult season.
God desires more than mere survival.
Jesus said,
“I have come that they may have life, and have it abundantly.” (John 10:10)
An abundant life doesn’t mean life is free from problems.
It means that even in difficult seasons, you have peace, hope, joy, and confidence because Christ is with you.
God wants to teach you to trust Him—not only when life is easy but also when life feels uncertain.
Trust God With What You Cannot Control
Sometimes we hold so tightly to things that God is asking us to place in His hands.
We cling to a specific job.
A certain timeline.
A particular opportunity.
A dream that isn’t unfolding the way we expected.
But surrender isn’t giving up.
Surrender is trusting that God sees what we cannot.
His plans are higher than ours.
His wisdom is greater than ours.
His love for you has never changed.
When you trust Him, you can move forward with confidence, knowing that He is guiding every step.
Keep Your Eyes on Jesus
The greatest gift God has given us is not a promotion, a degree, or financial success.
It is Jesus Christ.
Through His death and resurrection, we have forgiveness, hope, eternal life, and a relationship with our Heavenly Father.
That doesn’t mean Christians will never experience hardship.
Jesus Himself said that in this world we would have trouble.
But He also promised that He has overcome the world.
Because of Him, we never walk through life’s challenges alone.
When your eyes remain fixed on Jesus, disappointment loses its power to define you.
Your confidence comes from who He is—not from what you achieve.
Keep Trying
If you didn’t get the job…
Apply again.
If you failed the exam…
Study and take it again.
If your business isn’t growing…
Keep learning and improving.
If one opportunity closes…
Trust God to open another.
Persistence is not a lack of faith.
Sometimes it’s an expression of faith.
Keep moving.
Keep praying.
Keep trusting.
God is not finished with your story.
A Prayer for the Discouraged
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that my identity is found in You and not in my accomplishments or disappointments. When I feel discouraged, strengthen my faith. Help me trust Your timing even when I don’t understand it. Give me the courage to try again, the wisdom to keep learning, and the perseverance to keep moving forward. Teach me to seek Your Kingdom above everything else, knowing that You will provide everything I truly need. Thank You for loving me, guiding me, and never giving up on me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Don’t Give Up—Your Story Isn’t Over
If you’re reading this today, let it be your reminder that God is not finished with you.
The rejection wasn’t the end.
The delay wasn’t the end.
The disappointment wasn’t the end.
This season does not define your future.
God still has a purpose for your life.
He still has plans to use your gifts.
He still has doors to open.
He still has opportunities to provide.
So don’t quit.
Don’t let one setback convince you to abandon the dream God placed in your heart.
Take a deep breath.
Stand back up.
Pray.
Trust God.
And try again.

This will only make your life better, keep focusing on the good things in life and everything else will fall into place.
When I didn’t pass my driver’s license I was destroyed for a few days. Then I thought to myself “maybe I am not ready” I was right. God knew I wasn’t ready to be driving on the street. It was hard to admit it at first, but it was the truth. I needed to learn more, to drive more, to be more in control of myself while driving. The second time I took the test I was so ready. I knew I would pass and I did.

I am so sorry to hear anyone say they are a failure! It makes me so angry and sad to hear such words and yet so many men and women say it or/and think it daily. God didn’t make failures! He can’t! He made us after his own image which is perfect! So we can’t be failures. We just have bad days, that’s all.
